i am!!! been a fan since "foolish" and i agree they put on one of the best live shows ever. the first time i ever got to see them play live was a winter tour in 1999, with trail of dead, who has just signed to merge, opening. i was out front snapping some shots of t.o.d. with the other 3 people who actually showed up to catch their set. yes i did say 3, i have the photos to prove it. towards the end of the set, when t.o.d. started to get wild, i ran out of film and began to struggle to change rolls in my camera when laura ballance grabbed my arm and pulled me backstage and changed out my film for me. just as she had loaded my camera up jon wurster ran in to their dressing room saying trail of dead were trashing the whole stage and was worried about their (superchunks) equipment that was set up behind t.o.d. with that i headed back out and got a really cool pic of a snare drum flying through the air. and then superchunk played, equipment still intact and, kicked total bootay!

Don't even want to listen to a band with such a "disastrous" name!

i believe athousandstars is referring to "AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD" from Austin; they were pretty good for a couple albums, if you like SONIC YOUTH and maybe SWERVEDRIVER check out "Madonna" and "sources & codes". i like 'em better in a live setting than on cd, anyway..

as for the 'CHUNK, i was pretty obsessed with them in the 90s; saw them numerous times when i lived in NC, but they began to lose their luster for me after 'here's where the strings come in'...i ended up selling all their stuff by 2000, i don't miss 'em, plus i'll always have those memories seeing them in sweaty clubs, dreaming the day Laura and i would hook up, haha...

Superchunk is awesome. My favorite album is "Here's Where the Strings Come In".

I like listening to 'no pocky for kitty ' when having long drives during summer.

here's their song 'precision auto'. the bassist is kinda cute. i only like this song & maybe one other.

Been a fan since 'on the mouth', but my fav is 'here's to shutting up'.

Love Superchunk. Favorite album from them would probably be "No Pocky For Kitty"

I'm struggling with the new album... it's just too....... text book early 90's and not the good side of it. blah.
Huge step backwards from 'here's to shutting up', which is them at their best imo...
