Best album of 2009 thus far by a landslide.

Love the new album even more than the debut. It seems like they're really finding the sound that they want - very tight and cohesive tracks compared to the debut.

I've heard the original album was just a compilation and progression of their demos (which is what it sounds like), whereas the new album was made more as a cohesive "album" and not just demoing stuff. Sound is supposed to be fatter.

Anyone know when it officially gets released? I have a feeling it's October - but am not sure if that's UK, US, both etc... (no soapbox here, not judging pre-release listeners - I'll likely break down myself, just actually curious).

great album, even if i like the demo version of "everything always goes wrong" a bit more than the version on the album.
the first album didn`t remind me a lot of skywave but this one does. and thats a +

Agree with both posters above. First album was indeed demos (from what I remember the original demo actually had 2 tracks not included on the final album, though the final album had 3 new tracks not on the demo). And yes, new album sounds a lot more like the beloved Skywave.

I thought it was 6 October, but I'm not sure. Just saw them live for the second time and ofcourse they played a lot songs from Exploding Head. I Lived My Life to Stand in the Shadow of Your Heart is absolutely insane and live even better.
Probably I still prefer the s/t. Maybe because it's sounds a little darker, I don't exactly know why.

Just heard the album. Amazing. Oh the noise! The production is immense as well. To get that much noise but still keep it sounding so good.
I can only listen and marvel...
Can't wait to see them live
