What are you guys using to create that spinning/dreamy sound we all love?

Rigs,Amp Settings, Guitars, Bass's,Pedals etc.

I am running out of a Peavey Vtm 60 tube head through a B-52 ST-412 280W 4x12 cab with the reverb set at 10. lows up around 8 mids around 5 and highs around 8 as well, Master volume around 8. Using a Telecaster. As for pedals I'm running a Rocktron Stereo Chorus pedal, through a DD-6 on 800 ms of delay and the amps distortion with the presence around 6. Usually playing out of my neck pickup or in between.

I'm curious to see what everyone else is using. Very Happy

What make of Telecaster do you play man?

I use a Hayden Peacemaker 40W tube amp, and a Mexican Tele and Gretsch 5120.

As far as pedals go it's a Boss RC-2 Loop Station, a Digitech Digiverb, Proco 'You Dirty Rat Distortion', Barber LTD Overdrive and an Ibanez DE-7 Delay. Got my eyes on one of these though Wink http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ6kzw3x510

If you've got some money to drop on a reverb pedal check out the EHX Cathedral. Hands down the best reverb unit I've ever used. It's well worth the price.

Jazzmaster normally into to a JCM900 with the verb on about a 3rd

Pedals I have at the moment...

DLS/OCD 2 in 1 clone
DD5
TR2
MXR Micro Chorus

Prolly the smallest board i've ever had but I'm able to get some nice stuff when combining the pedals.

I just started a two man band (guitar-drums), so I needed a bit more depth to the sound. So, I play my 360/6 Rick into a Hardwire RV7 Reverb set to plate reverb, and from then I split the signal and one output goes to Frantone Peachfuzz->Catalinbread V8 (oscillator fuzz)-> Deluxe Memory Man set to slapback echo -> Fender Twin Amp with lots of reverb, and the other output goes to a bass amp through a Catalinbread Ottava Magus fuzz. I am also thinking of splitting the signal from the DMM to two amps, and add tremolo to one of them, and be able to switch on the amp when I want some tremolo, instead of the pedal.

Pics of my set up/Home Studio:

My main guitar, Fender Jaguar Special HH.

My Ibanez Acoustic/Electric.

My current pedal board, with Tuner, Soul Preacher Compressor/Sustainer, Devi Ever - Shoegazer Fuzz Pedal, Boss Metal Zone, Digiverb (not hooked up though), Seymour Duncan Shaper Shifter Tap Tremolo, Tech 21 Boost RVB, EH Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai Delay Pedal, and BBE Two Timer Analog Delay. Not shown, my Big Muff, and a couple of bass multi effects.

My Marshall practice Amp.

Ion if I need to sample vinyl.

Wide Shot of my home studio, which is in the living room of my current one bedroom.

Headphones are Roland RH-200S, Monitors are KRK Rok It 5s, Audio Interface is Ozone, and my controller is a NI Maschine. I also have a studio in my friends basement with console, huge monitors, drum mics, bass amps, Ibanez electric, Ibanez bass, effects pedals, hardware synths, and a bunch of other toys. One day the two will combine when I have more room.

Also I just ordered this last night, the Roland JC-90 to become my new main amp. I hope it comes in soon:

I have a bunch of guitars, all of which have their uses. I use my Jazzmasters more than anything else, but the Rick 6 & 12 strings get used, and my Vintage SG copy is great for leadlines and really crunchy rhythm.

Amp-wise, I have a silverface Twin Reverb, but more often than not I'll use Amp Designer in Logic 9, which really is excellent.

As for effects, about the only pedals I use are then Boss CE-3 chorus and Ibanez PT-9 phaser. Everything else comes from my racks:

delays: Deltalab DL-4, Boss SE-70, Roland DEP-5, Roland RE-201

reverbs: Alesis Quadraverb, Ursa Major Stargate 323 (my favourite, by far)

chorus: Lexicon Alex, Lexicon LXP-1, Lexicon Reflex

flanger: the aformentioned Lexicons, Boss RBF-10, Boss SE-70, Deltalab DL-4

phaser: Boss SE-70 (the phasers in this little unit are awesome!)

compression: ART Dual Levelar, Drawmer LX-20, home-built 1176LN clone and SSL mixbus compressor clone

I use an iMac running Logic 9, with a MoTU 828 Mk III interface. Everything is routed through patchbays, meaning I can connect anything to anything else, which comes in handy if you like fiddling with things! Oh, and I'm using a Soundtracs Solo 32:8:2 console.

The majority of the studio stuff was bought for cheap off eBay. Some of it was bought broken and then fixed, and a few of the units I built myself. If you're handy with a soldering iron and a schematic, get yourself over to the Prodigy Pro forums, where you'll be in geek heaven!

laser monkey, that is definately one of the coolest gear assortments I've ever seen... I would be entertained with all those guitars and rack units for weeks....

cool stuff!

I use a 40th anniversary US strat, with a cool rail in the neck for guitar.

Fender Twin Reverb Amp

Boss DD3 Delay, PS2 phaser, Tech 21 boost reverb, digitech digital reverb, boss compressor pedal, boss RC 2 loop station, all into my zoom HD 16 for recording. I want to get a new guitar soon, either a MIJ jazzmaster or a Rick 360/6. Very Happy
