I don't buy CDs anymore. It's a 90s thing.

I still like a physical product. I'm partial to digipacks, I like to see what art the band thinks complements the music, so, I went with the 3-fold digi, but it's more or less the same for me as a 2-fold digi. Jewel cases are fine, but use a ton of plastic. I find the little cardboard envelopes boring. That's just me though!

I like jewel cases the best, but digipaks are fine too. I used to not like them for some reason, but nowadays it doesn't matter too much to me. I think I just don't like it when the digipak doesn't come with a booklet.

IMO digipacks have the more beautiful look&feel to them but cry for careful treatment as they look worn quite fast. I agree that jewel-cases are quite 90's though and an extra addition to enviroment pollution...

I'm actually also wondering what the generel sound carrier of choice is in this community? Has there ever been a poll already?

I have to admit buying CDs only 2nd hand to rip them into iTunes and re-sell them again. Everything else is good old Vinyl (which I also prefer for DJing at indie parties, etc.) and MP3 here... Just got rid of ~70% of my old CD collection.

I still like the jewel case. They line up nice on my shelves, and the actual printed elements don't get all scuffed up.

I happily bought my first CD in 1985 and it makes me sad that they are being killed off so quickly by non-physical media. But, having said that, if my latest album ever gets released, it will be digital format only. The ghost of the late Raymond Scott Woolson has bowed to the inevitable.

I have mostly jewel cases but now prefer the digipaks. I also have some vinyl but, unlike most folks, don't like vinyl. I prefer having the physical media, even though I just rip in on to my computer anyway. Interesting to read all the different preferences. I wish my boxes of cassette tapes had value, what a waste all that money was!
